Does anyone here know how to make a bass kick like the one in this audio clip, its probably the most powerful kick I've ever heard in any type of music. your help is appreciated.

what you want is to layer your kicks, so use a few different ones at different frequencies, have one lower sub to mid based kick, then use a higher based kick, chop out the lower frequencies of this one so it sits on top of the lower kick.

then compress the two together

there's an offbeat (gated?) reverb on those kickdrums as well.

put a reverb on your kickdrum and play with the predelay setting until it falls in between the kickdrums.

You could easily get this kick just by taking a 909 kick, eqing it right, compressing it and putting a bit of verb on it.

The reverb is what gives the kick the feeling of hugeness. The verb trail tricks you into thinking its the most monstrous kick in creation, the kick itself is just quite a punchy but ordinary sound.

All good tips so far. You may want to read this tutorial on kick drum layering. It's for Ableton users, but the same techniques can be used by any software.

There`s stuff about kicks on my BOA masterclass Part 1

Essentially a good 909 base, a snappy kick to sit on top.
Good solid compression over the 2.
Then some reverb with predelay set to hit on the offbeat.
Maybe to go REAL large (I don`t think the kick you posted is that large. Look to early Poundy Grooves releases for the KICKS OF DEATH), boost the bass on the reverb a bit, and then buss the lot and compress over the verb and the kick.
