Stewart Walker - LIVE [Persona / Tresor - Boston / USA]
Americhord - LIVE [Bleep]
Ross Carew [Full Stop]
Admission: e8
This Thursday we welcome the first ever Irish live appearance of
Boston-based techno producer Stewart Walker. Since he began making techno in
1997, Stewart quickly made a name for himself with releases on well-known
labels such as - Tresor, Force Inc., Mille Plateaux, Mosquito and Richie
Hawtin's M-nus imprint. These releases opened the door for him to remix
established acts such as Fumiya Tanaka, G-Man, Carsten Jost, & Rampe D. With
each new release & remix brought greater acclaim and thus he was able to
perform his energetic live set more frequently around Europe.
In 2001, Stewart decided to found his own label "Persona" with the sole
intention of bringing personality back into the genre of techno. So far, he
has released 5 EP's and one album 'Reclamation: 1997-1999' to great response
from journalists & DJ's across Europe. His live sets are committed to
defying techno music standards and he always pushes himself to interact with
the audience, resulting in intimate shows consistently characterized by
cutting-edge sound, this is not to be missed !
Support of the night comes from Americhord who, like Stewart, will also be
playing live. It's has been a busy time of late for Americhord with great
performances at Diversions & Mor Festival. Americhord's set is sure to
include tracks from her forthcoming EP on Trama Industries which is due out
next year. DJ'ing on the night is Ross Carew from the Full Stop
collective. Ross's minimal techno sound was first heard at Electric City
last July and we are eagerly looking forward to his return.
