Someone big must have him lined up for next season, maybe it's out of the premiership, abit strange to say the least like.....

8 seasons at bolton though i can understand he needs a new challenge...

Apparently he left as the board were not going to back him in the summer! he would of had to sold anelka to raise funds!!

fair play the board never really backed him

seems he is on the way to city but he is good enough to go anywhere!!!

That he is, you could be right about the allegations too and that's why he's going... I don't think the lack of funds is right, after all he got Anelka last summer and the chairman says there were funds and it's not over that, but personal reasons and he hasn't got a club lined up I think he said...

I mean Bolton would get compensation if another club came in for him, so it wouldn't make sense to accept his resignation if they thought another club was after him. He wants a break apparently, which seems a bit strange though, you don't see Fergie and co taking a break and they must have more pressure, though I suppose he could probably do better than Bolton and it might be different if he was at a top club.

I wouldn't be too surprised if he ended up at Newcastle, Roeder doesn't seem good enough ultimately.

The thing is apart from the Anelka signing he has worked mircales at Bolton and to have them 5th in the league is amazing. He know that the only slight chance of breaking into the top four is to spend money otherwise what more has he got to achieve at Bolton. You can understand the board wanting to keep their feet on the ground but Allardyce probably needs a new challenge.

Hopefully Bolton will be reeling from this at the weekend and we (west ham)
will give them a sound thrashing (well one nil will do )
