Makaton - LIVE [Rodz - Konez / UK]
Dez Lynch
Giles Armstrong [electricity]

This Thursday sees UK techno producer Makaton playing his
first Irish live show at Electric City. Makaton, aka Steven Bailey, is the
man behind one of the UK's finest underground techno labels: Rodz Konez.
Steven started the label in 1999 as a way of getting his music released and
in that short time he has released over 20 tracks alongside EP's from
equally respected techno producers such as Max Duley, Inigo Kennedy, Regis and Slovakia's Olga & Jozef.

Recently Makaton released his debut album 'Animal Worship' to widespread
acclaim from both the UK media and Europe's top techno jocks. Dave Clarke
charted 'Animal Worship' at number 1 in his monthly chart and Surgeon,
Andrew Weatherall and Sven Vath can all be heard playing tracks from it on a
regular basis. It's dark claustrophobic driving feel have made it one of the
standout techno releases of 2003.

Next up on Rodz Konez is remixes of tracks taken from the Animal Worship
album done by Paul Damage, 65D Maverick's & Japanese whizkid Fumiya Tanaka.
Makaton's exhilarating live set has seen him play many of Europe's top
techno clubs including House of God [Birmingham], U-Club [Slovakia] and One
[Madrid]. If you like your techno hard, deep and LIVE! make sure not to miss
this performance.

Support on the night will come from Ireland's Dez Lynch. Dez is a fierce
exponent of the harder edged spectrum of techno where he rocks tracks from
the likes of Patrick Skoog, DJ Amok, Robert Natus, Sven Wittekind, DJ Boss
and many more of the new school of German techno producers. This will be his
first appearance at Electric City - we hope the walls will still be standing
at the end of the night!

Starting the night's proceedings will be Electric City resident Giles Armstrong. Here is his current chart :

Another commendable booking Electric City peeps ! Nice to see promoters who aren't afraid to take a risk and not just going for the obvious 'names'. Good stuff.
