Hello,
I was wondering this morning what a weekend in a life of a big name DJ would be like, perhaps like Thursday to Tuesday kind of thing. Actually **** it, week in the life of would be better. Like Friday's, Saturdays, Sundays I imagine you play pretty much none stop. How many nights do you play at and how much travelling can you get down you over a weekend? Do you travel alone, get driven, public transport it? Do you bother sleeping after or just keep going all weekend? Relax time? Studio time? Family time? Do you get to go out and socialise away from parties and clubs? Do you see playing out as work or play or both? Is there much time for getting messy if you are that way inclined? Do you play as much or less or more than a few years ago? Should I have used paragraphing?
It's not for any sort of project or nowt, just being nosey really!

i expect its a busy lifestyle, ordering the stretch limos and hummers, making sure there's enough champagne on ice with the correct cut glass champagne glasses etc:cheese:
:D
I have this fantasy about porn dwarfs with plate shaped hats on with lines of coke cut up ready for A-List to hoof up as and when they need a top up.

Cos I don't go on this board that often and only really loiter in the acid forum, and Mark, Henry and yourself are the names that seem to be on the lineups and that (although from what I can gather you are more MC than DJ).
Plus the stuff about the porn dwarfs and lycra clad monkeys.

Ok, well I'll answer then. :)
If I've got a busy weekend then it goes a little like this...
Friday: Get up, go to work at 6am. Get home from work, walk the dogs and head off to where ever I'm MC'ing / DJ'ing. I always drive myself. Arrive at club / event, do my shit, head home or off to next place.
Saturday: Normally arrive home between 8am - 10am, walk the dogs, grab a few hours sleep, get up head off to where ever I'm booked. Do my shit, head off to next place or home, again between 8am - 10am. Few hours sleep. Wake up walk dogs to pub, drink. Home to sleep.
Monday: Up, dogs walked, head to work at 6am. Leave at 4:30pm, repeat for rest of the week.
It can get pretty knackering to be honest. The travelling can be a killer sometimes. It's not all that glam really. I'm sure others will tell you the travelling and expenses are the worst thing about it all.
Friday bookings when you've been up since 6am and working then head out in the evening until 6am Saturday morning is a killer...

Also, I am a nightmare for getting lost when travelling as many people can tell you. I've been known to turn up to the wrong club before. Like the time I arrived at Air in Birmingham, joined the queue, got to the front checked the guest list and no name there. Phoned my agent who said hang tight I'll pop outside to sort it. He rings back saying he's outside and where am I. I tell him I'm at Air in Birmingham, and he says I'm supposed to be at The Emporium in Nottingham where I am supposed to be...Doh! :)
I really need to get Sat-Nav. With me driving it's more like Spaz-Nav!
