Oh hell yeah. It's time for me to get cable hooked back up. I get it hooked up about this time every year and cancel it the day after the Superbowl. It's not a money thing, it's just that I don't like anything on tv enough to pay for it. Except for the NFL. My infant daughter already has her jersey.
BTW,

I'll be the first to bitch about how much of a chance they have to fail this year, but they are still my Cowboys.

Well the opening game was won by the Superbowl champs(Indianapolis Colts). They kicked the crap out of the New Orleans Saints 41-10. The first half was pretty good and ended a 10-10 tie. The second half was a fiasco. For last year's #1 offence to get crushed like that was a suprise even if it was done by the champs. I still have faith in the Saints though. They just have to get rid of David (got beat for 3 touchdowns by Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne).

i'm not too surprised. the AFC is far superior to the NFC, plus this was in indianapolis. the only teams that would give indy a hard time IMO are new england, baltimore and san diego.

10-09-2007, 03:35 AM
I'll have to agree with you after the way the Bears played earlier today. They won, but poorly. San Diego was suprising in how inneffective they were on both sides of the ball. I hope LaDanian does better or there are going to be a lot of pissed off fantasy league people.
BTW, the Cowboys just scored again on the Giants so it is 17-6 with 5:00 left in the second quarter.

HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS???
Good game. Why did it take 3 1/2 quarters to get the Giants to cover the middle on the play action? What's the deal with Manning's shoulder? Who thinks the Dolphins have a chance at winning against the Cowboys next week?
I can't wait until next week on Sunday night- Patriots vs. Chargers. Should be a doozy.
SlavikSvensk
10-09-2007, 05:35 PM
how about them cowboys? probably the third or fourth best team in the NFC. :; seriously though, looks like the eagles are not so hot, so cowboys should win the NFC east. i also think the saints are taking a step back after last year, so really the only teams that are prob better in the conference than the cowboys right now are the bears and seahawks.
now...how about that RANDY MOSS?

from 2004, apparently.
seriously though, he's absurdly talented. very frightening for the rest of the league that brady is throwing to him. i mean, what do you do? do you double cover him? half the time that won't make a difference, as the jets proved when he burned their triple coverage on that TD bomb. plus then you leave at least one over target wide open. someone's getting yards.

Pats in the superbowl for the AFC after a hell of a run in the playoffs. NFC is uncallable at this point. No idea until midseason. Even though they are my team, there isn't a snowballs chance in hell that the Cowboys will make it past the first round of the playoffs. Sad but true. Seattle maybe or if the Bears get their shit together.

Yeah but the Jets secondary has more holes in it than swiss cheese and has for a few years. They got beat 41-0 by Jacksonville and lost to fricking Cleveland last year, both teams with crap passing and mediocre running. Yeah they made the playoffs last year but more than one team made it that didn't deserve it like Dallas(I'm gonna burn for that), the Giants, and the Chiefs.

Dude! Greenbay is 2-0 and looks really strong! WTF? I thought Favre was 3/4 crippled and their defense was passable at best. I couldn't be more wrong. And what the hell is wrong with a team when they score 45 points and still loose. That was the battle of the inept defenses.

two other things...
a) how about that crazy browns-bengals game?!
b) how about how bad the saints look?
i knew at least one division winner from last year would tumble, and figured the saints might be the one, but so far they look awful.

I'm on another board with this cajun dude and he was almost in tears with how bad the Saints look this year. He's spouting crap like"Geaux LSU" in garish yellow and purple now instead of all the Saints bs. I feel like my retinas are seared. So much talent, so much suckage. Kind of like San Diego, but I think they(SD) have room to bounce back. The Saints seem so dejected that everything didn't gel together this year like it did last year that they have already given up. It's a shame too. I had them slated as my underdog team to root for this year. I think I might have to root for Tennessee. When the Saints win three in a row, I'll root for them again.
BTW, what's with Seattle getting beat by SF in a clincher? I thought they were better than that?

a) how about that crazy browns-bengals game?!
Supremely horrid defense on both sides. It was a matter of whose defense sucked worse.
b) how about how bad the saints look?
See above.
i knew at least one division winner from last year would tumble, and figured the saints might be the one, but so far they look awful.Once again, a few roles have been reversed. At this point, the Bears seem to have lost their place to GB(for how long I don't know), the Chargers are slacking(incredibly hard beginning schedule though) and the Saints have a hole in their hull and are quickly sliding towards the bottom and crush depth. And the Eagles don't look that solid in the NFC east. Tonight will be the decider on that one with Philly and Washington on Monday Night Football. I know Philly will win, but how well will they play? Can they stop Romo and T.O.? Can they run against the Cowboys massive line? Washington is built kind of like Dallas as a team. We will refer to them as Dallas Jr. from now on. How well the Philly linebackers(not many are better) can stop the run and not leave the middle open for the playaction pass is a big one. We raped the Giants on that one alone. Can they run against Philly? Can they contain McNabb? As McNabb does get older, he has been changing into more of a pocket Qb instead of the sprinter he used to be. That would be a problem if he didn't already have a great arm.

I'm very disappointed in the Eagles performance. Their quarterback is top notch and has been playing like shit this year. The Redskins are the perennial punching bag for the NFC East conference and are undefeated so far. McNabb needs to step up and take charge like he is paid to do. ANd stop throwing like a rank ametuer.
