impressive... but.. as someone commented there, why not just buy a keyboard.. cos it seems to be just a difficult way of playing a keyboard... you'd need a tone record to use it and they don't come in too many different noises so could get boring pretty quick.... and if someone played a set with a bog standard casio keyboard plugged in to the mixer then played 'light my fire' on it over a drum break.. how cool would that actually sound? technologies eating us..
check out this hour long video about bbc radiophonic workshop.. thats exactly what he's doing in essence, except they were using scissors and reel to reel tape - awesome.. and so techno too.

it looks like all those buttons are pitch ajustments, but they've worked out all the different speeds required to transpose a flat note up or down by tones or semitones.. like a piano... the little buttons are the scale and the big ones beneath are for octave changes.. (i reckon)
