This week the legendary 2000 and One aka Dylan Hermelijn from Holland makes his long-anticipated Irish debut. With a history in the world of B-Boys and Hip-Hop and a true collection of the rarest tunes, he started DJing as support to Amsterdam's Rap act 'The Beatmasters' during the 80's. It was in 90's when he stumbled on techno while on a trip record shopping in Soho, London. Upon hearing this new sound, Dylan's hands itched until he got a small Roland: 'TB 303 Bass line synthesizer'. Quickly he gained a style that was influenced by the sounds coming from Chicago & Detroit.

Not only is 2000 and One, one of techno's underground heroes with releases stretching back almost 20 years (!), he is also so hot right now. After becoming disillusioned with the techno scene in the late 90's with the increasing focus on 'loopy' techno, Dylan stopped making music until a couple of years ago when he resuscitated his legendary 100% Pure record label. Since then, releases by Shinedoe, Dave Ellesmere & the monster track 'Tropical Melons' by Dylan himself have seen 2000 and One and the 100% Pure label back in the spotlight where they belong.

So far 2007 has been without doubt one on his busiest years yet with a string of awesome tracks and remixes on labels such as BPitch, Cocoon, Music Man and Moon Harbour. His rocking DJ sets explore the boundaries of German melodic minimal techno flavoured with the Detroit flow. Support comes from EC Resident Jay Galligan.
