Hi
I have been DJing for around 10 years, and I've been getting more into what I consider an Electro-influenced side of Techno (or House?). To give you an idea, I love thick, nasty basslines, some breakbeats, vocals only if they're not cheesy, Acid influences, and glitches. I'm into artists like Extrawelt, Petter, Trentemoller, Minilogue, etc.. Maybe more well-known, but I'm open to smaller artists as well.
I'll post this in other forums to cover myself.
Can you recommend absolute essential tunes that would fit into my style and expand it? I think I will be playing out again soon, and I would like to come out fighting.
Cheers for any help

On the housier tip, check Ghostly International. Artists like James T. Cotton, Matt Dear and Lusine.
Also, you might be into Daniel Wang, Lawrence and Matias Aguayo.
One awesome electro producer is Gerald Donald. He has made some blinding records under quite a few psuedonyms:
Drexciya
Dopplereffekt
Ectomorph
Arpanet
Heinrich Muller
Happy digging!

OK, some of this is close to what I need. I'm wondering if Extrawelt has just ruined me on other music? It's like they write music exactly to my tastes. Their really good tracks avoid being minimal, have huge basslines, are melodic, glitchy, etc..

A few more examples of what I'm after:
Extrawelt - Fernweh & 51 Poland Street rmx
Minilogue - Space
Fairmont - Flight of the Albatross
Petter - Left Turned (this track is incredible)
Trentemoller - Killer Kat
Deffo into there being a distinct mood to the track. I guess melancholy can be good in doses.

ooh, a couple nasty ones from this guy! most are a bit too... fluffy? for me, but a couple are great. "Code 1026" and "La 11eme Marche (A. Kowalski rmx)" do it for me.
thanks
