Electric Shock Xmas special comes to town where we match up arguably Ireland's finest producer right now, Donnacha Costello with one of the biggest names in electronic music, Speedy J. It's been a while since we had Speedy J play for us (Jan '06 - Statto Ed) but the Dutch master has been busy busy all that time. Getting up to the 4th installment of Collabs 4, his collaborative project & delivering one of the remixes of the year with his version of Syncom Data's 'Beyond the Stars', and live shows all across Europe. Speedy has also been deep at work in the studio putting together a new hybrid live/DJ show which will be featured at this Electric Shock. An electronic star with releases on Plus 8, Music Man, Warp, u-Ziq, Fax, Harthouse and most recently, Novamute, Speedy has proved himself with devastating releases though the years.

And to Donnacha Costello, well - he has rocked Electric City and Shock on several occasions whether it's a live or DJ set. His sharp combination of Chicago dynamics amidst a 'minimal' framework have worked to have his own releases and that of his Minimise.com label become standards amongst the likes of Villalobos, Magda, Troy Pierce, Ellen Allien, Richie Hawtin over the past few years. Most recently he has remixed Mark Broom's 'New Life' track and released 2 excellent Eps by Cornell on Minimise. He has overshadowed several high-profile international guests in the past and who knows, he may even do it again this night. Whatever the outcome, it's going to be a killer night of musique-non-stop with only one winner - you the attendee's !

Dan McElligott makes his Tivoli debut this night. One of Ireland's best DJ's. Dan never puts a beat wrong and his set with Eddie Brennan before Marc Houle was one of the best Mr.Houle has heard this year. Get down early and make your own mind up.

Our Electric Shock Xmas party sees us return to the Tivoli next Saturday for more festive frolics. Last year it was Alexander Robotnick and Hardfloor who tucked into our Christmas pudding just as Only Fools and Horses was about to start. This year we have the Sky Plus set as we bake a cake for Speedy J, Donnacha Costello and Eddie McElligott. As it's Christmas and Uncle Vincent & Paul have been very kind to us so far this yuletide we have 5 sets of double passes to hand down.

Thanks for all the entries to our Christmas cracker. The correct answer was Wham's Last Christmas which was held off the top spot by Band Aid in 1986.
