Im thinking of buying an outboard effects unit such as a kaos pad but know very little about thease sorts of things. I want somthing i can take ith me when i play out which has got good effects for mainly techno. Ive never played with one so i dont know what im getting for my money. Ive got a Tascam x9 mixer which has loads of really good effects on such as delay & flange which you can tweek to the bpm or the style of music you are playing. I obviously dont want to buy something that will only give me the same effects that ive got.

Are thease little boxes of tricks just a toy or are they really worth the £250 ish price tag ?

Anyone who's got one or has used one a few times please ket me know

both the kaos pad and the pioneer efx500 are good tools, the kaos pad has a sampler but can be a little random if you hit the screen in the wrong place, whereas the pioneer is really easy to use and hard to mess up but no sampler ...

they are defo worth the 200-250 quid either way.
