Arsene Wenger has confirmed he intends to draft promising striker Carlos Vela into his Arsenal squad next season.
The 19-year-old Mexican has impressed Wenger while on loan at Spanish top-flight side Osasuna during the current season and the Gunners have already begun the process of acquiring a work permit.
ARSENE WENGER Vela, who has already made three international appearances for Mexico, joined the Gunners from Guadalajara in 2005.
The teenage forward has found the net three times in 32 appearances for Osasuna this season despite playing as a winger.
"We have applied for a work permit for him now and he will be involved with the first-team next season," Wenger told the club's official website.
"He has played the whole season at Osasuna on the left wing and he had to work hard there.
"But for me it is not his position he is a central striker, an Eduardo type."
It'll be interesting to finally see how he gets on at Arsenal after signing him 3 years ago! Sounds like he's a good player and it'd be good to have someone who can fill in for Eduardo and/or van Persie.
