well then you obviously need to go and check their neve, SSL & API emu's. cause they're about as close to real as you're gonna get!

Curious to hear if these are as good or better than the UAD's but one thing is for sure the price is pretty scandalous but certainly a lot cheaper than the real thing :)

well from what i hear the UAD fairchild is pretty awesome. does it emulate the fairchild in an over driven state well?

only prob is ive heard the UAD is only 4/5 instances max?

Depends on the Sample rate you use but the UAD dsp power is a bit weak I had to get a second one almost straight away . Pretty serious rumours about the much anticipated UAD 2 soon though.

Fairchild is a complete animal on UAD from subtle gain reduction to full on slammed sound it does them all beautifully. Thing is for the price Waves are asking it would really need to be an amazing plug although I can see people getting to run native though. Pultec EQ is a bit special as well by the way, curious mix of boost and cut at the same time gives it a niche very few others things I have can fill , sounds great as well :)
