Think I've been caught napping......

Never had the pleasure of seeing Carl Craig live, own a few of his records but never really got massively into him.

Downloaded this recently though:
http://electronic-sets.com/?p=297

Blown away. The most futuristic sounding music I've heard in a long time.

Does anyone have this mix? Are all the tracks Carl Craig tracks? Its a studio mix for k7 records....

Is he always this good? Has he always been this good? Is this style new?

Someone give me some pointers please, having got bored of plinky minimal things lately I'm suddenly really excited.

His labels Retroactive and Planet e have had some pretty seminal releases on them.

for me, one of the most consistently brilliant producers since 1990.

or sometimes hes just plain boring

i know that ill probably get linched, but i didnt enjoy paperclip people that much

"at les", on the other hand, is one of the most emotive songs ever.

I agree with the boring. Certainly confirms yet again that big names aren't always at the forefront of decent music.

I want my money back.

Not sure why I never got to grips with mr craig, don't think I've ever heard a set from him before, and he's done so many things I don't think I ever heard a consistent sound from him, or registered that he was behind all his different pseudonyms.

i'm not sure what did you expect... hard techno?

we were thinking about bringing him here for a DJ set, but then he took few weeks break from performing due to private reasons (new kid on the way etc.)

always wanted to check him out live. both as DJ and with a jazz band.

I got to see him play Electric Picnic over here a few years back. I wasnt 2 familar with him when i saw him and he was one of the only techno acts, I was blown away and its the kinda techno i would not go for, but to see him play a big festival . some savage tracks he has.

respect to carl craig

I was hoping for less dancing round handbag and more dancing round carrier bag with a decapitated sheeps head in. I just wanted it dark.

I have a couple of his releases, one of the records I have has a great instrumental track on it. He is a legend of a producer.
