Ableton Live 7?

if you have no plans of moving to ableton/cubase/etc, reason 4 is a big improvement over Reason 2.5 :)


.....I recently heard some very good stories about Ableton Live 7. Any experiences? I mainly want to produce (electro/idm) music, but in the future maybe I want to do live performances.

-Is Ableton easy to use?
-Has it got a quality sound?
-Is it a program for electro/idm music?
-Can I buy Ableton Live 7 LightEdition, or should I buy the full version?

im only a novice to it but i really like it and its really easy to use and people on here are always willing to help you out plus theres load of info on youtube and the net in general

also Ive been looking in cakewalk sonar aswell that looks really good, anyone got any comments on that(sorry hijacking your thread haha)

if you can afford, then go for full version and not LE. See the comparision chart. Live7 vs Live 7LE

Live7 LE seems to be too limiting:

- External VST/AU instrument instances per project> 2
- External VST/AU effect instances per project> 2
- Maximum number of scenes per project> 8
- Track Freeze> No

In my opinion if you just get the light version of ableton live 7 in time Your going to wish you had the full version :)
Live7 LE is very limiting.
