AC Milan have dismissed reports they are interested in signing Liverpool striker Emile Heskey on loan.
Newspaper reports on Wednesday suggested that the European champions were keen to make an unlikely swoop for the Reds frontman but Milan's sporting director Ariedo Braida said: "No, we are not interested in Heskey. We are not looking for a striker and it's unlikely that we will make a move in the January transfer window.''
Heskey has also been linked with a £5m move to Middlesbrough, but given his fine recent form and the fact that Milan Baros is still out injured, Reds manager Gerard Houllier will not let the England star leave.
However, with the expected arrival of Djibril Cisse from Auxerre in the summer, the 26-year-old admitted earlier this week that his Liverpool future is "on the line" and he accepted he must maintain his good form to win a new contract.
