!!! SPREAD THE WORD !!!

Few words about Grovskopa...
Born (1982) and raised in Sweden, Grovskopa is one of the most exciting and innovative young DJ/producers to arrive on the techno scene in recent years. He has been producing since the tender age of 14 and began DJing a year later.
In 2001 he launched his Emergence Records label which is still running strong with the recently launched daughter label Pohjola.

Few words about Surgeon...
Child grew up in Kislingbury, a village in Northamptonshire. In 1989, he moved to Birmingham to study audio-visual design, played in a jazz/rock/fusion band called Blim, and learned to DJ from friend Paul Damage. At that time, there were no Techno clubs in Birmingham so he and his friends started House of God, and by 1991 he was DJing there regularly. In 1994, he released his eponymous debut EP on Downwards Records.
Surgeon's musical style is characterised by his incorporation of the more cinematic and leftfield aspects of his musical background into his club-based material. His production, remix, and DJ repertoire are inspired by industrial music bands such as Faust, Coil, and Whitehouse. In particular, the extent of Coil's influence is such that most of the track titles from Surgeon's Tresor album "Force and Form" are direct references to Coil recordings. Child also draws influence from Chicago house, Techno, Dub music, and Electro, and also from non-musical works by Mike Leigh, David Lynch, William S. Burroughs, Bret Easton Ellis, and Cindy Sherman. Child is also known for several significant artist collaborations in his career. These include tonal experiments with Mick Harris, British Murder Boys with Regis, and most recently with Ben Sims as Frequency 7.

Few words about Luka Baumann...
Despite growing up in a country consumed by war, Luka has always been consumed by music. When he was a kid he joined music school, which eventually turned out to be a disappointment – during the year he spent there not once did he touch a musical instrument. Soon after, he discovered that a computer might be a useful tool for experimenting with sound and so began to learn technical aspects of music production. High-school period played a vital role in young Luka's musical education, as he discovered what was later to become his biggest inspirations: Steve Reich, Autechre, Surgeon and Coil. That was also the time of huge fascination over John Cage's theoretical works and Italian futurism, from which he drew influences on how music could be created. Luka’s works are often created by capturing rhythmical patterns from environment and implementing them to his music: "I venture out and record certain rhythms or patterns to be found in our environment, taking them to my studio to work around them. I always try to leave these recordings as unprocessed as possible. This is like taking bits and pieces from my reality and use them to build musical structures."
Luka is interested in the primal aspect of human kind: elements buried deeply below the surface of culture, which take the lead role in various aspects of human behaviour. Therefore, he sees techno as a way of making direct contact with that primal substance. His music deeply reflects this attitude: it's raw, fierce and impetuous, yet always leaving an open space for listener's interpretation. Originating somewhere between Birmingham techno and industrial (Coil, Nurse With Wound, Boyd Rice et al), Luka also draws influences from a vast pool of eclectic music. Variety works perfectly for Mr Baumann, who always transmits his message clearly and leaves no listener indifferent.
2004 was a breakthrough year, as Luka's works saw the daylight for the very first time with his first EP, 'Poslije' on his own label, PSNZ. Shortly after, more releases followed on labels such as Mainout, Infecta, Arms and - of course - Emergence. Collaboration with Grovskopa was as much unexpected as it was unavoidable; thus Brethren/Los Jovenes was created (with their first releases on shortly-lived Hispania Records and Emergence sister label - Pohjola). Both Luka's and Mika's vinyl releases focus mostly on harder edge of techno, so a digital platform with more experimental edge was created - Emergence sublabel IOUMP3. Five digital releases have been issued since, with music varying from warm ambient sound-scapes to industrial drones.

Few words about Rednox...
Already introduced before, Rednox is one of the residents of Bside show. But if you missed previous shows, here are the infos...
Born in 1985 - Belgium and dj’ing since 2003, rednox try to combine dark and grainy textures (Haus Arafna, Pan Sonic, Vromb, Telepherique...) to heavy techno beats influenced by names like James Ruskin, Makaton, Surgeon, Regis, Grovskopa, Luka Baumann, Reeko, Go Hiyama or Oscar Mulero as well as artists coming from IDM and Breakbeat scenes as Richard Devine, Kero, Hecq, Vex'd, Afx or Autechre. His journeys push boundaries until you would be purged of all negative impulses, a kind of cure which nobody out unscathed. Every three month, he’s resident on B-side/Livesets.com radio, a techno/industrial show. In August 2007, he launched a free net label called Ante-Rasa. Something obscure, raw, dense, percussive & hypnotic to bring freshness to a scene tending to standardization and to offer an independent space of expression for those who want it. His goal is finally to get out of your straitjacket through a passionate approach.

Few words about Dead baby in a plastic bag...
"Dead Baby In A Plastic Bag" is a Live Edit project ran by the Krauts Unclean and Pripad. It merges both, traditional analogue and modern digital DJ techniques, trying to break down those outdated musical boundaries. DBIAPB is rather an unhealthy mixture of Industrial Breaks, Power Electronics and Rythmic Noise, to say, not the typical "4/4 Techno Manner". In fact their sound focuses on political situations, musical confrontation and manipulation & sonic challenge embedded in total darkness.

Few words about Maztika...
Born and raised in southwestern Poland. Started creating music in late 90’s. Dj’ing since 2004, sticking to Wroclaw’s techno scene and mostly playing there in clubs or free parties in region. Contributed tracks to Ante-Rasa, Limetree, Furanum Rec. and Audioexit.

Few words about Michel F...

Played on party's with: Marco Remus, Man At Arms, 2Junktion, Dj Dano, Angerfist, Dj Promo, Jan Liefhebber, Sorgenkint, Dj Luna, Mental Wreckage and more...

Few words about Marcel Heese...
Marcel Heese was born (1983) and grew up it a small town near Berlin. Techno hit him pretty late when he listened to the sets of Loveparade 2000. Short after that he began to listen to & tape weekly radio shows. Although he was already listening to so-called underground stuff the commercial end of Techno was dominant. Within the next 2 years the commercial stuff was more and more left behind.
In 2002 during a six months apprenticeship in Hamburg he went to his first "real" Techno party at Phonodrome Club with Cisco Ferreira aka The Advent at the decks. He was fascinated by the power of that sound he had only listened at home so far. During that time he bought his first record: Sven Väth - Fire (which is already sold again). But it took six more months until he finally visited the temple of Techno, Tresor Club. It was the 12th club birthday with Scan 7 live and Surgeon spinning. This legendary night infected him with the Birmingham sound.
In summer 2003 he bought his first turntables and began to spend all his money on records. At first a lot of easy accessible tool techno besides some more bangin records from Birmingham. But that changed pretty soon and he was and more interested in deeper sounds and a bit more complex tracks. During the next few years he discovered a lot of different stuff like Detroit, Chicago, Acid House, the Warp Posse, Dub Techno, Ambient, Noise, Industrial, Breakcore and Dubstep.
He finally started Dj-ing in 2006 and after 9 months of practicing he had his first gig at Ruderclub Berlin in April 2007. More gigs at Tresor, Subversiv, Kiki Blofeld (all Berlin) and Sfinks (Sopot, Poland) followed. In April 2008 he joined the Tresor Headquarters team becoming a resident at the mother of all Techno clubs.
His favourite artists/labels nowadays are: Downwards, Counterbalance, Axis, Warp, Tresor, Token, Transmat, FXHE, Basic Channel / Maurizio, Mojuba, Tectonic, Redshape, Bitstream, Robert Hood, Planetary Assault Systems, Jamal Moss aka Hieroglyphic Being, Drexciya, Terrence Dixon, Counterpart, Deepchord, Lerosa, Theo Parrish, Sleeparchive, Marcel Dettmann.
Although his focus nowadays is more on Detroit Techno and influenced sounds the Birmingham sound is still one of his favourites. A set can range from 110 bpm Deep House to 145 bpm mid-90s Techno. Recently his sound has slowed down some bpm and he focusses a bit more on the groove. Still liking good old bangin' Techno with soul.

Few words about Fromm...
Born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1981, Fromm has always shown a keen interest in the Arts. Introduced to electronic music in the late '90s, he immediately became interested in doing something of his own. Soon afterward, he enrolled in the Zagreb film school and is now working as a professional film and tv editor. Listening to a wide range of music styles from earliest electronica to today, it's interesting to see him translate those filmmaking skills to music.
