View Full Version : Your favourite Producer.

I know the way it is, there really is so many out there that really know how to blow your head off time and time again.
I was only thinking about this the other day while going through my mp3's.
Really think hard on this one. Who manages to get it right on the money for you EVERYTIME?
I have to say, my favourite producer has to be Chris McCormack. Exit to extinction 1, 2 & 3 are just beautiful.
So, what about yours?
I know this is a thread that comes up a lot, but it's always nice to get recommendations.

hehe good lad. Self belief is a wonderful thing! There are so many producers out there that I look up to and that knock my socks off, but Mr. McCormack tips the scale.

+1
He has incredible ways of using incredible bass.
Seeing as we're all naming a few, in no order:
Dirty Bass for sins of freck and that dubstep track (can't remember the name)
Jay Pace... grrrr the name of that track evades me, it was on the free EP.
RDR because he just knows how to kill. DUB Riot was mind blowingly good.
Rhythm Technologies- again, finger on the trigger all the time.
Force- because we got to witness a monsterous progression in his ability.
Seige- because purple drift was locked in my head for ages.
Wetworks- Always gritty, peices of.
Loads more...

i'm feeling some of Dosem's latest work, although I am not a fan of all of his material. I am giving him a lot of rotation for his deeper techno material, but some of his more trancier or melodic stuff I'm not a huge fan of.
The remix that he's going to be making on Alex Bau's label is true dark techno at its finest.

For anybody that wants to learn how to produce great tracks really should listen to a few of their records.

True, but you look at his history and most of what he has touched are landmark productions.
Eno is damn good too.
Alan Wilder of Ex Depeche Mode and his own stuff As Recoil is a wizard at production, I`ve been studying his stuff a fair bit recently.
Trent Reznor has become very accomplished as a pure producer aside from his creative work too.
Some of the Ghosts stuff is lush as ****.
My fave is Graem Revell of SPK. His production is just immense now, his sound design and film scores are great.
Lustmord (Brian Williams), another SPK guy is also pretty amazing. His Zoetrope soundtrack was fantastic, his sound design again is second to none.
A lot of the guys from the Industrial era have gone on to be pretty stunning and innovative producers.
