i always wanted to make this question , post you computer specs please

2 months ago i finally build my new pc (my old one was a P4 3200mhz + 2GB ram)

here is my actual specs:

[processor] Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Box
[motherboard] Asus P5Q
[Ram Memories] Team Group 4Gb DDR2 PC2-8500 Xtreem Dark 1066mhz
[hard drive] Samsung 500GB SATAII 16MB
[graphic card] Gigabyte HD4850 1GB GDDR3 OC Zalman
[dvd/cd drive] Samsung SH-S223 22X SATA Black
[pc case] NOX Saphira
[Power Supply] Lc-Power 600W 6600GP V2.3 140mm
[UPS] MUSTEK POWER MUST 600VA USB
[keyboard] Logitech Ultra Flat
[mouse] Logitech MX 518
[screen] Samsung 2043NW 20-inch Widescreen
[extra fan for case] NoiseBlocker Black Silent XL2 120mm Retail

i buy all the parts in Portuguese websites , total spend 1000 euros (2 months ago was the best price i find)

partition 1 - windows vista 64 ultimate running sonar 8.0.3
partition 2 - mac osx 10.5.6 running logic pro 8.0.2 (i flash my board bios for this, is running like a real mac pro , not a single bug or crash yet)
partition 3 - data

next step is some decent audio card and monitors (life is hard around here i work in construction like a dog to win 500 euros :( )

im not a regular producer (i just produced 3 tracks in 2008 i think) , i make music just for fun i love it, i hope now to get more time for my productions , im working in some tracks right now i will post in the forum when i finish them

Macbook C2D 3gb Ram 2ghz

1 x 500gb Maxtor drive and 1 x WD250gb drive as Time Machine.

Thats it.

Logic/Cubase/Pro-Tools/Ableton

2 x Tannoy mercury
2 x Alesis M620 actives
2 x Buggered Tannoy DMT10 mkII (Anyone know how to fix x-overs?)

1 x Yamaha o1x

And a load of other shit in the studio.

i presume you've blown something withing he cross over circuit board, maybe better off just replacing the crossover unit. in that case, it's a handy job to replace.

Did you NEED to flash your board ?

Im running iPC x86 10.5.6, and did not need to flash my BIOS.

Isnt it great to be able to get a MAC PRO at around 25% the cost ?

I LOVE MY HACKINTOSH

Im running iPC x86 10.5.6, and did not need to flash my BIOS.

my motherboard have one protection in bios to not boot osx systems (i think the motherboards with the new Intel P45 chipset have that protection)

i was using osx in my old pcs and i never need to flash the bios , its a new protection i think (but hackintosh community never sleep)

yes its great to be able to have a MAC PRO for this price :) im using osx in pc since version 10.4.11 tiger and i never had problems
