What does it matter whether i'm from Manchester or not?
Do you honestly believe that every fan of every footy team in the world actualy live in the city which their team represents?
Don't be ridiculous, all major football teams attract fans from different parts of the country/world...
Manchester Utd are the most supported team in the world, so it figures that a large portion of our fanbase does not actualy live in Manchester. That's not to say that no-one in Manchester supports Utd, visit the city sometime and you'll realise that...

I've probably been to old trafford more than most Man U fans and i'd say that there are a lot of die hard Man City fans in Manc more than Utd.
imo i like how it is in Ireland you can only play for the footy team where your from so all the people that play for say Cork are all from Cork
