Now then Danny...
Like the glitchy lead sound you bring in first - this is a good groove - - reckon if you mute the riff and just listened to the track without it this might give you a different perspective on what the sound used for the riff should be ... I understand the quirky fun element but at the moment the sound you are using is a bit dry and static... try a few different sounds that are still quirky but not as full on... I know it's too loud in the mix but I don't think just dropping the volume will sort this
Sounds a bit rude what I'm saying but I can't quite articulate what's wrong apart from the synth preset for your riff just isn't the right 'shape' for the mix.. ummmm ... am a bit tired and on headphones but I think I'm right
More sub needed on kick and bass - and there is some muddiness on the bass so cut a -4db slice with parametric Q ratio about 25 at 310hz i fink ( but fiddle up to 380hz say to see )... hats n ride are a touch too loud at the moment but I like how brutal they are ... :;
Nice percussive wierdness too which all just needs a clean up at the moment to define it a bit more... light trimming with eq should do the trick
An interesting 2mins there so sort the mix and gain the balance - then get some progression going using effects and movement on the riff and such... :cool:
