How may web sites can 1 man handle updating!! Aghhhh
Looks good, although dont yet have an account. I think a decent & personal web site is where its at, as a first - then utilise the myriad of social networking sites available to compliment.
As a prodcers/DJ tool I cant comment..as a platform to promote yourself and getting bookings/sell music..hmmmm.
Teknonotice is present on Youtube, facebook, myspace, vox & twitter however tracking sales show that they deliver no return on time/money investment.
We get good hits and coverage using social media but only use it as a director to our main web sites. Lets not forget we are still in a niche.
The drop box is a good idea but is simply an ftp account, something that any label/site will give you. We have very similar tools availble online but even our resident artists still use megaupload/usend it etc etc...

Hey Danny, if you want a decent, but cheap host, built on cloud computing, scalable storage/bandwidth etc etc drop me a note. I own a successful international web hosting business.
The only reason it exists is to power a myriad of web sites my business run (media based so traffic is heavy)
It also now powers teknonotice.com, which if you visit the D/l section can give you an idea of our speeds.
or have a look at www.sharparray.com
even if I say so myself the technology rocks! Free trial available.

like i say i dunno how much it costs eric forss hooked me up with a lifelong pro account because i was there since the beta, but with a pro account i can see who is listening and when, this is INSTANT GRATIFICATION heheh also i caught a friend of a friend listening to my hip hop stuff and that lead to a colab etc so it is usefull info. the thing gives you breakdowns in graphs etc of your listeners and download stats and you can have many more tracks up i think.....
anyway this guy saying that the drop box is "simply an ftp account" (teknonotice?) his "resident artists" still use yousend it etc? PPFFFFFT.... man you sound like you are scared of a little competition from the soundcloud crew... ftp/yousendit/megaupload are all good options but on sendspace or megaupload who the f4ck knows who else will get up in your shit
seriously soundcloud is QUITE different than myspace or whatever and the fact that most "techno" artists are on there, makes the concentration of bussiness connects astounding.... and another thing, soundcloud isn't about "pimping your profile" like facebook or myspace, it's just artist based music distribution. the flash player widgets and tracking ability of your music make the thing a WIN.

they range from $99 per upwards - so I will probably get one. Only been putting tracks on there for about 3 days and already had some messages and made some contacts - looks like a great way to check out new music.
I'm sold.

you can get a pro lite account 9 euro a month, pay by the month so no yearly contract, you cancel anytime. i'm tempted just to see what the benefits are
