Have you ever liked a person's work, but like it that much more when they collab with other producers?
Who is your favorite collab or combo and who would you like to see together?
I happen to really like when Kay D. Smith & Alex K. Katz were rockin'

back in the day i always liked when Dean Rodell and Glenn Wilson got together. some good, hard, straight techno.
liebing and walter were pretty dangerous doing the Stigmata thing too. in fact, i would love to see them do that again.

yeah. and i'm pretty sure that is the case.
not saying the new "andre only" stigmata stuff is bad. it's just definitely a different approach. not as aggressive as the old stuff. still pretty dark though.

advent and industrylizer are stand out producers for me at the moment, but then again, cisco's stuff always stood out so it doesnt meet the requirements of the question heheh
nuccle and h for sure, that was one hell of a collab but i've heard them both do amazing stuff on their own.
speedy and liebing.. that really works but again, they're good separate too.
what you're really asking i think is what partnership in a 'band name' works well when together but SHIT when they're apart. cause tbh when ppl like speedy and chris and the rest come together, it's because they were already good anyway.
and you know what...
I CANT THINK OF ANYONE HAHAHHA

defo!
while they are good apart as well, the murder boys stuff is on a slightly different platform
can't believe no one has mentioned lars klein and michael burkat, those guys were the illest
also ace! but again good on their own as well, one particular track of theirs on bound, some sick stuff
Tetra pak boris and arkus p - thumbs up!
obi and lukas
adam beyer and speedy j collabs 1
tetrapak yes, but arkus p and boris s are landmarks in their own rights, boris s being responsible for felix kroecher prods which gave him fame..btw
obi and lukas, i disagree, obi is much better on his own, he's got his style well established
lukas' style is harder to define, prob due to less releases, so it makes for an imbalance of who influences who or who brings what elements to the table imo (i can't tell the difference between an obi or obi+lukas track..)

Yeah, that was one of the first ones I thought of too - would love them to do another album. Stoll is back working with Front 242 again though. He has started another project with Pete Namlook, but not techno I don't think, sounds like it could be interesting though.

The Liebing/Speedy J thing was a marriage of convenience. They have done a few alright records, but it's a pity that Joachem's ability to dazzle has been eaten up by the need to have to fit into a shrinking market and scene.

I disagree with some of there tracks being only alright . There was some very good works released by them on collabs 300 , 301 and 3000 . Well IMO anyway

Two producers that were each good in their own right, and worked well together.
Core had some good solid releases as well.
