hey guys could you please point me in the direction of some nice dubstep please, i know i said i didn't like it, but i like it now.

got some nell landstrum stuff which is okay.

anyway hope you can be forgiving enouff to sort me out.

Depends what you really want, dubstep has become soo diverse so quickly.
I like the less cliche stuff, more experimental sounds, not so much of the wobble wobble slowed down drum and bass.

Hyperdub is a great label.

Just go here and check out the new releases
http://www.redeyerecords.co.uk

or here and download millions of sets.

cheers dude
i fancy some of the more cheesy dubby slowed down drum n bass to be honest.
i used to really like my drum n bass back in the day 93/4

Oh there`s tons of that kind of stuff, 75% of dubstep is all that kinda thing.
You`ll have no trouble finding any.

Dubstep has morphed and developed so quickly there are loads of substyles coming out of london now.

The big gnarled up wobbly stuff is kinda like the mainstream cheese equivalent of clippity clopp minimal, but if you dig deep there`s some stuff that is pushing forward, new sounds, slippy beats, big textures.

Best dubstep mix I've heard was by MarkOmen.

Past that Vex'd, Digital Mystikz, Tech Itch, Plastician, Tes La Rock, and of course Burial.

Lots of great stuff about.

I haven't really listened to much new stuff though.

It's calm, sophisticated and has a nice beat to it towards the end.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of this stuff as a frontier for dubstep or heavy energetic dubstep....

Mala - Eyez (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSwqaV6BCFo)

Deadmau5 & Kaskade - I Remember (Caspa Remix) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLvo-zuOdQM) - and this to a lesser degree but with great vocals.

Lots of new stuff can be found at http://www.getdarker.com/home/ but I'm always eager to hear other frontier, boundry breaking dub.

Hardcore good-ness in my books.
Getting big plays and support already from Search n Destroy, Johnny Miller, Icist, Spyro, Oneman and Lego.
They blew the roof off at the recent Brick dubstep event.
Nothing else sounds like it.

Really like the direction they went with this. Especially enjoyed samples that were mixed in with the music. The sound is really fresh and has that (but not quite like) Coil feel to it (Children of graves).

Yeah I like it, I think it will cross over nicely to the harder techno peeps too, they seem to be avoiding dubstep cliches so far from all the stuff I`ve heard.

bandwagon,
We`ve been playing dubstep for years at Club TED parties.
We supplied the soundsystem to the first few Search and Destroy parties at Herbal, back when dubstep was SMALL and america didn`t even know what it was. 80 people jumping about on a tuesday night in london to early dubstep.
Look how it has exploded now.
When did you jump on, consume was what, Early 2009

We were rocking live Dubstep pa`s in 2006, there`s a link to one we posted up on blackout in april 2007
http://www.blackoutaudio.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=47095&highlight=leytonstoners

funny, I remember gunjack was doing techno in those days.

We didn`t jump on the bandwagon, we didn`t need to, it wasn`t very crowded then.
You had to wait for them to ship the bandwagon over to the states before you could even consider jumping on.

Haha, cheers, still a virgin to this dubstep lark really.

and as for me getting up in ppl's faces? let's recap shall we?

i posted my honest opinion without profanity or name calling etc:

sounds like somebody who made techno and then put the LEAST effort possible into giving it a half time feel and left it at that.

to which steve decided to be a smartass and respond:

You`d know all about things like that.

who is really out of order???? me for speaking honestly? or steve for provoking me?

did i post up links to my shit and call it:

Very different???

no.

i posted up 20 f ucking links to artists in this thread, but instead of giving his honest opinion on any of the artists up for discussion, he attacked me personally.

and on top of it i get:

Gunjack.

You really do your self no favours here at all. The way you come across online puts me off supporting your music. Why do you feel the need to get so angry / heated / up in everyones face?

si the sigh, wouldn't you get up in someone's face if a healthy debate was in progress and they decided to come after you with a cheap shot because they did not agree with your respectfully communicated opinion? think about it. read the thread and you will see that this thread did not cross the line from debate to flame war until steve started acting like a jerk to me personally.

just admit that you tried to make an alias project, tried to play the forum and your potential consumers for dumbasses with your thinly disguised self promo and now don't have the cojones to admit it!

playing dumb and talking down to "the yank" ain't gonna help your this time

i bet your little vinyl doesn't even come out now.... f ucking mp3 copycat loser you are man....

it wouldn't have been so bad if you would have said: "i like this new group, they sound cool" and left it at that, but you had to go off about a "different hybrid blah blah" and call yourself "soldiers" and "dons"

Hardcore good-ness in my books.
Getting big plays and support already from Search n Destroy, Johnny Miller, Icist, Spyro, Oneman and Lego.
They blew the roof off at the recent Brick dubstep event.
Nothing else sounds like it.

well it wouldn't be BOA if this didn't happen at least once every 6 months. At least it keeps the place alive.

i still don't fully get dubstep though (it doesn't get my feet tapping). maybe i need to hear it in a loud club?

anyhow, i heartily recommend some of scuba's new stuff, specifically his last ep on abucs, his remix of DFRNT and some tunes off his latest ep on hotflush. much of it veering into straight techno territory.

also, 2562 and his alias a made up sound...all fantastic stuff.

add another vote for that al tourettes on apple pips. bleepy goodness.

check moderat's new stuff as well...quite a convergence of techno/dubstep/garage. lovely. and definitely check out the untold/surgeon remixes of moderat's "sea monkey". awesome.

ike release is hitting the berlin/detroit sweet spot right now, as is jus wan, & f.

on the deeper end of things, DEFINITELY check out kontext on immerse records. stellar.

peep the alien pimp/ikkaku collab on dubkraft as well. lovely stuff.

and i have to mention untold again, as he has made some weird mixup of dubstep/house/techno/something whatsit. i can't really describe it. neither can he.

Found this track on Beatport (of all places!):

YouTube - Excision - Get To The Point (feat. Liquid Stranger) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29uSjbT98es)

I like the b-line and the modulations in it, but also around the 3 mins point it gets a bit of a 4 beat which I'd like mess round with mixing techno into it. Maybe use this as an intro, then get a proper 4/4 kick and go off into Techno. Not normally much of a fan of dubstep, but this one gets me!

Well you could say i've been dabbling a bit lately but mine would be only considered as DUBTECH. Can peep out my soundcloud if you like...

BRADLEEMUZIK - Tracks - SoundCloud (http://soundcloud.com/bradleemuzik)

It's got the same cadance of the rest of the genre, but my own ideas blended in with techno.

quality tracks man, really like the sound youve got going on :)

MONEY and UFO's is heavy stuff man

Ey Brad, I like it.

Happy you took a listen man, I put a few more of them up there too today as well. Just really trying to take a different approach, develop my own it of sound to it you know. Thanks for peeping it out.

Thus far, that seems to be most peoples favorite of them. Those who like the funkier tunes tend to bend towards "cybernetik party people".

Appreciate you letting me know your thoughts too man. Doing my best to stay on top of the game as well....on hiatus from techno but gives me time to experiment.

Sounds good Red.
It flows smoothly besides the heavy sounds.
Good work man.

I'm there or there abouts. :)

It's cool that you even wanted to make dubstep given your love for techno and tendency to be on the cutting edge.
I'm happy the two sounds come alive in your music man, very intense.
Also digging the Hellboy avatar. :)
