Leads for songs !!

Hi,

I'm new to producing house music and i'm struggling with making/finding some leads for my songs.

Do I download a bucket load of samples and tweak them to how i like it? Or do I download a vst which will have alot of leads preset in it??

I'm pretty keen to make some sorta chirpy noise, or even just something to put over a bassline and drum kit to make my songs sound more complete.

Here is my first song I've made (so you can have an idea of what sort of stuff i'm making) i'm sure you guys can tell it needs a lead over the top of it too!!

Have a look at the free vst thread and download some of the synths on there. Start reading up on synthesis and you'll be on your way. Presets can be handy, but there is no substitute for a good understanding of synthesis and making your own patches.
