Google it
Feb 2010 production stops apparently.
opinions?
google only shows message boards & stuff, no official statements from panasonic (although everyone is citing them, lol, i see hundreds updates on twitter about it atm)
apparently technics uk denied the story, which makes sense really, even if sales number is lower than usual, they are still no1 on the market and i doubt they would just stop to produce market leader in couple of months
some say they will just stop producing mk5, and continue with low-cost mk2 + top end models (didnt they introduce mk6 just a while ago?)

I hope so
sad times if not
btw bare in mind some australian shops started the rumour, saying "go get them while you can, we still have a few" ;-)
and then it got posted on some hardstyle board, how relevant can that be lol

I heard this too but thought my friend was simply confused, is this a representation of the current state of vinyl then?

Yeah, it was debunked by Pioneer. Technics are still big sellers. I'm sure they will stop one day, just not now.
