Nothing acoustic there at all, using sequencers and electronic triggers etc. 2nd vid is a music video.
Still a cool live act though, I`d like to see them.
Dance music needs more live stuff to keep it in the public consciousness.

I was getting at the instruments used really with the 'acoustic' description

from the myspace page.....

'..With prepared piano, vibraphone, drums, various percussions, brass and string instruments, rhodes, bass guitar and analogue synthesizers the trio creates textures that may bring to mind Steve Reich as well as the oldschool loop techno. Experiment meets deepness, complexity meets minimalism. The generation of the sound is mostly acoustic – even the bassdrum. Only few electronic instruments complete the sound..'

this isn't exactly accoustic, but I'm making a techno track out of my farts. It will be run through sequencers of course, but it all comes from my arse.

have to say, they have to be the most boring looking and sounding electronic music I ever saw.

when you say acoustic techno, I immediately think of Philip Glass. Glassworks, to me, is acoustic techno, and is AMAZING.

"come out" by steve reich is acoustic techno, in the same sense.

agree that brandt, bauer frick isn't exactly "acoustic," but rather "live" techno.

pretty cool live show though!

I like all the poly rhythmic stuff coming together to create the whole.

nope sorry , not into this
they're not exactly raving it up are they ?
if you listen to it without the visuals it's limp as hell.
not a lot better with the visuals either,
I can't stand the geek look

sorry....next!

It's an interesting idea but too much of a pastiche to make an impact.

Is everyone here just about pounders for people on pingers?

no, not really
I just thought they were boring to look at and listen to personally.
pounders are good yeah , but we've just been getting into talking about electronica recently too.
it's just that this stuff neither pounds nor stuns you with electronic beauty
it just sits in some weird middle ground
nothing really sticks out to catch your ear, nothing is particularly abrasive or hard either
nothing very experimental
the guy can play the drums , but he's not brilliant, he's just OK
the music is sort of OK
but it's not brilliant
bit pointless really
i.m.o.

The problem with it is clearly that if you know your history you've seen it and heard it before but that can be said of all music if you drill down to the core but I do like the mirror it's holding up - maybe that wasn't the intended statement/stance but it's an interesting one all the same.

I like the simplicity of the looping rhythms, reminds me of early acid house.

And theres a lot to be said for war criminal haircuts and tank tops you know

I really like the song "Bop." It's really interesting, and worth the listen. These guys would be interesting to see live.
