I know I keep on going on and on about this but I'm having a nightmare. I really want to install my new OSX system but can't cause I haven't got anything to try on it!
Hotline are assholes 1/2 the time. KDX is OK but I have problems understanding the way it all works and I'm having real problems finding servers that allow me to upload Mac OS9 software/pc software and get OSX stuff in return.
The other alternative is to buy of course but for some strange reason I do so love the 'try before you buy' approach.. hehehe

well why dont u set up your own hotline server? put on everytthing u got and be patient. it will pay off. that could be also an alternative to that ftp server ppl were talkin about here.

Mark,
I switched to os x (jaguar) two months ago and absolutely love it.
Ableton Live and Reason work without any glitches, unlike os 9.
There's a ton of free software out there to get the feel of os x, but I'm sure you're looking for more substantial applications.
Download the beta version of apple's "safari" web browser. I'ts the shit, looks just like the Itunes interface.

also,
in os x, you can have classic running all the time, so most os 9 apps you want to use will still be available.
I was skeptical about switching, but got the hang of it right away.
9 seems soo ancient now.

it'll let you run both os together?????? cool.
do i have to format the drive to install osx? that means i'll have to install all the os9 progs again?

u can just install it over classic.
progs that are written for os9 will automatically open in its own shell.
mark do u use metasynth? it's written for mac only.
