Following last month's sellout gig with Colin Dale, we go from the very established to the very up & coming with rising star Sigha of Hot Flush recordings. Currently being remixed by the likes of Marcel Dettman and an integral part of Berlins techno scene, expect a cutting-edge set from someone to really watch out for. Residents Pat Hurley and Ron Speed keep it rockin' as usual plus more new blood in the shape of Heidi Hi and Juljan Gray make this a night of fresh exciting music in one of London's best new venues.
About Sigha
(Taken from the Shooting Stars of 2010 feature in Jans edition of DJmag)
Forged in the fires of techno's industrial past, and rising from the flames phoenix like to claim his place in the pantheon, Sigha (pronunced sire) is a different kind of DJ/ Producer. In his world German minimal wizzards Ben Klock, Marcel Dettman and Redshape sit side by side with dubstep stargazers Ramadanman and Pangaea, all united under the umbrella of intense deep machine music. Of course, techno and dubstep have been getting cosy for a while now, but never with such seemless chrome plated majesty. Mixing hissing black smoke, clouds of techno hum and 4 x 4 drums with disemboweling heavy bass heft. DJ sets at his london club night Medium taking place at Plastic People have joined the dots between underground forms of electronic music, forging exciting new hybrids in the process. Releases on the fresh-to death Hotflush (Rawww ep) and alongside Spherix on Immerse (Seperation), have got tech and dubstep heads equaly excited, and drawn props from Mary Anne Hobbs to the mighty Dettman himself.
