On the 13th of November we're stepping up the Vibes again with a double bill of first class parties. First up we'll be taking over the bumping Cafe 1001 main room in the heart of Brick Lane for a free party, then afterwards we'll be carrying on round the corner at Old Street’s lovely new underground spot, Nomad.
We are of course no strangers to the warehouse style main room of Cafe 1001, having hosted many a Saturday night party there in the last couple of months. This time the Funktion One sound system will be graced by East London party starters Man Make Music alongside residents Paddy Freeform and Strange Worlds.
Since late 2006, Man Make Music has cultivated their name as one of the best up and coming party brands in London. After a series of road blocked events in the East End from Unit 7 to Corsica Studios and legendary underground warehouse raves in Hackney Wick, it wasn't long before promoters from London's most established venues were taking serious note of MMM's electric eclectic bass parties.
As DJ’s, the MMM lads Sketchy, Another Amit & Noel Mas, effortlessly blend together a broad spectrum of bass heavy electronic music from disco, house and tech house to dubstep, wonky, bass and hip-hop. They've played and hosted alongside such notables as Mala (Digital Mystikz), Claude Von Stroke, Nathan Fake, Justin Martin, Kevin Saunderson, Joy Orbison and many more.
After rocking Cafe 1001 with his Strange Worlds live set at the last couple of parties, Strange World's Darko steps out from behind his machines for a DJ set and of course delivering the deep grooves will be Universal Vibes head honcho Paddy Freeform.
After the free party at Cafe 1001 we move up the road to Old Street and take over one of the floors of NOMAD. Nomad is a new music venue in London that came to life on the second weekend of August 2010. Aiming to deliver an advanced series of DJ and live acts, combined with internationally known artists and the most inspiring new talents, we're looking forward to testing out the brand new Nexus soundsystem as we bring the Vibes...
