Do you know you have a virus? Computers shutting down can be common and the reasons are typically....
1. Bad/Insistent power input (solved with a battery backup between the wall and the computer)
2. Bad computer power supply.. (Solved with a new power supply)
3. Short in the Motherboard..(bad news.. need a new motherboard)
**This issue actually belongs in the Hardware section I think***

does it say
"your system will perform an automatic shut down in 30,29,28,27......." or something like that?
if so then it is MS-blaster and you can find ms-blaster fix on norton`s pages.

you can halt the restart effect by going to control panel/admin tools/services/ then find remote prodcedure call(RPC) in the list, right click it and select properties then goto recovery tab in the box that opens and change the options so it takes no action instead oif restarting, thatl give you some time to sort it out :)
