In the PL, Cesc has 80 assists, 35 goals in 212 appearances.
In La Liga, Xavi has 49 assists, 38 goals in 380 appearances.

I came across these stats and thought they were interesting. I suppose Fabregas tends to play a more advanced role perhaps, at least these days.

Also, Fabregas is 3rd in the all time Prem assist chart, 4 behind Lampard and 17 behind Giggs, so if he stays for another season or two he could easily overhaul them to go top.

pretty redundant tbf as xavi doesn't even play that far forward, i'm sure the pass completion numbers would balance out those stats

fabregas is prob go there next season anyway

I assume this is a new definition of the word "interesting", that I am, as of yet, unfamiliar with.

No comment on Fabregas being on course to destroy Gigg's assist record then? He's only about 13.5 years older...

Why, has the level of sarcasm recently been raised in the hierarchy of wit?

What were you expecting, stats about how many glamour models they've slept with?

Yeah, apart from the World Cup, setting up the winner, and Euro 2008, shame Giggs never even played in the finals of a tournament.

the premier league only started recording assists in the year 2000 so i'm guessing that giggs has quite a few more than that
