Looking to back up rest of my vinyl onto my pc with soundforge 7 and m-audio 2496 sound card. Can anyone give me recommended set up as im pretty much a newbie when it comes to things like this. Have installed the sound card successfully but have no breakout cable so am connecting my mixer to the sound card. Looking to get the best quality rip as have loads of storage on my pc so if anyone can give me some tips on setup, format etc etc. Any other tips welcome..Thanks in advance!

I use mixer out to input on my sound card/interface- phono's to 1/4" jacks, and record through audacity (freeware).
although not sure if this is 'the' way to do it but it works for me.
alternatively if you only have an internal soundcard you can use mixer out to mic in on the internal soundcard, phono to 3.5mm.
Hope this helps!!
Edit: Just seen your soundcard, am guessing phono to phono for that card.
