Dub & reggae style techno...

I love the Highwire records & any techno that has elements of dub & reggae to it. Can anyone recommend any tracks that contain elements of dub & reggae other than the Highwires? I have just managed to get hold of Jamie Bissmire's Corner Stone LP and thats the sort of stuff im after! By the way, if you have not heard it, check it out! ;) Anyway, any tracks you suggest I keep an eye out for? :eh:

I'm not gonna mention track names, just go find, look into the whole lot... there's a whole world out there ;) Although if you are only looking for banging dub/reggae techno (!) I'm not sure I have many other leads..

Ah jaysus, sorry lads but this is bollocks... what did Emerson do, rip a Bob Marley sample and throw a WJ Henze drum loop under it? I'm sure it's super but if you guys are looking for dub/reggae in techno why don't you look for the real stuff not the shite?

I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about dub/reggae styled techno and to me Emerson has nothing to do with that movement... it's just a one off cheap shot release I'm sure.

I like reggae and dub, but not one of the Highwire releases has even come close to doing it for me. I don't feel that they're combining the two styles in a way that really works.

infact, check out futuredub, distributed by....me! like dub/minimal techno but with 20% techno 80% dub. get your smoke on to that. really, really bloody good. i am getting the back catalogue form tuning spork and contecterrior and future dub very soon. i just have a few future dub 3s now.

Not a fan myself. I love reggie but not the tech cross-over stuff - I do try and try listenihg to each release but none of them make me smile (my criteria for buying) so they just go onto the 'no thanks' pile.

i just got hold of some Highwire tunes, 12, 14, 15, 16 - i aint one for normally buying techno, but the Highwire stuff is lush - off a big sound system (you musta seen mine, if you aint, click here (http://www.missionparty.com/pics/rig.jpg)) its fekin awsome! will look into the other names metioned on the thread!

well, it seems to go down really well with our regular party mob - one DJ in particular plays alot of this style and personly, i cant get enough of it - think it's the bass line factor again, kinda big reggae/jungle drops :D
techno needs more bass! obvious bass as well - all the loopy hats and snares on a rumbley/grumbley bassline does me nut! wish i knew artists/labels to give examples of the kinda stuff i mean .. :oops: bass line on that Luke Slater - Horns track was good....

After sifting through a few records I found that its a Cari Lekebusch/Mark Williams production with vocals from Julian Marley
and its on Real Vinyl...

Cari's Woman EP (H Prod 1232) is a totally wicked blend of dub reggae and techno.
Also the B-Side of the first release on Bryan Zentz's new label, Disruptor, has a dub track on it.. You can open sets and what not with it.. not sure how it would do in the middle tho.
