You can read the entire story at the link above, but suffice it to say that independent musicians in the US rarely have the means to pay for medical services.
After a fantastic weekend where he played the Movement Festival in Detroit, he ended up super sick, unable to breathe because of a tear in his lung allowing air to escape into his chest cavity. This could have been MUCH more serious if he had not gone to the hospital when he did, but he still ended up spending several days there. Now he has medical bills in excess of $20,000 USD (and that was the discounted rate), no insurance, and no real way to pay for it (to give perspective, I work full time at fairly decent wages and that is almost as much as I make in a YEAR).
So he's asking for help, but wants to give something to you in return: an EP made from the sampled sounds of the equipment that was keeping him alive in the hospital. Pretty cool! There's many different ways to get it, from digital files, to vinyl, plus some extra perks over the top of that. If you can help, please do. If you can't help, please spread the link wherever you can.
Adam has been one of my best friends for 15 years now. I have seen him through several severe lung problems that put him in the hospital. It's terrifying when it happens, but it's even sadder that once he heals, he has to deal with the potential of losing everything he has (I don't know about anywhere else but in the US they can take your home if you own it...that means his studio and his livelihood too) because he cannot afford his medical bills.
This is basically my plea for my friend. I'm asking the techno community that he has given so much to, to help however they can in return.
Thank you so much if you managed to read this far. And thank you for any help you can provide. Much love.
