hats compresion,eq

what sort of compression and eq do you guys apply to your hats rides cymbals etc i am looking 2 achive the same kind of sound as blackoutaudio,glenn wilson etc etc would be very grateful if you guys could help me out

i remember posing this very question a while ago, i think the general response was not to compress hats as you will take out the harmonics. as for eq, im no expert. but id say experiment with it.

Sometimes I compress rides and hats with a sidechain to the kick. But I always have some clean hats in the mix as well.
Genrally as Col said, you are better off just using Eq and some reverb.

eq... do a wide low cut 2 get them 2 spread and sizzle ... do a little up notch around 8-10 KHz if u lik'em hard and ringy!
