If someone can help me.
I'm searching for a hardware device with Dolby A, B, C modus inside.
A noise-reduction system.
It's not only for noise reduction, but especially for the extra smoothness it adds to your sound. :)

dolby noise reduction is a big no no for me, all it does is get rid of the top end

As far as I know (not much of an analog tape buff) Dolby was basically a way of trying 2 squeeze some detail from a normal tape where U'd get a mf hiss... so itwas a way of trying 2 fight that!

Basically it boosts the top end whilst writing to tape and the cuts the top end when playing back ... i'm sure it's a bit more complex than that. If youreally want something that does Dolby you could probably find an old 16 track that's beyond repair with working dolby bits ... a lotof the big tape machines have seperate units for the noise reduction.
But it seems like a lot of heartache for something relatively unexciting.
