i think you on about the djm 600 - ive seen it being dont before - you have to take a sample of a tune and mess with the effect amount - im not too sure how you do it but im getting a djm 600 in bout 3 weeks so if not sure then i let u know.
its definately using the sampler on the 600 tho marco bailey does it a lot too
sample a 12 on the DJM600 sampler & wind up the time til it almost buzzes. i love doing this. u sample a loop & cue 2 trax (an accapella & a loop track) then wind up the sampler til its just a high pitched buzz & drop your 2 trax...
CROWD GOES WILD

thatd the one i was trying to say - ****ing love it - cant be overused tho
once or twice in a 2 hour set.
i love sampling a loop then takin the 12s off & leaving two dead dex with a bangin loop still going... melts the odd punter who can hear techno but see no vinyl

sounds interesting.. have to give that a whirl next time i use a 600
When I first got the DJM600 and heard people doing that I always thought that if I could make that noise but then change the time parameter so that it played a tune it would be quite funny. I always had an idea that I'd do something like play the eastenders theme at the end of a set....
Never actually got round to trying it though.
tell you what we did once we hooked up the 600 to the video player and kept sampeling snatch. "get your tongue out of my arse gary"

Sampling
Sample: 8 beats with ending
go to loop
Time: Make it a half of the sample you´ve got an functionable loop, if you´re got the beginning on the drum... Make it while your playing the loop again at a half and you´ve got a roll, how fast it is will be set by the length of the sample...
try sampling a spin back then using the pitch function & slowing the spin back up & down... carnage
of try this. get the TRANS & wind up as tight as it will go then as soon as u hit the orange button wind it down over a few beats... instant distortion

watched a crowd gasp in horror... until i wound it up fast enuff to slide Rushs CLRemix underneath... the smiles came back

i sampled new kids on the block - right stuff and an alter ego tune at half speed, then wound it up into a techno tune, funny as!
I am the eggman

sample a loop, put it on the off beat on the other side of the cross fader. Start double beatin but only catch the hi's, bang in ur loop then do ur wind up trick. Cross fader back in the middle so original track is playin over hi buss sound (take off bass and cradually bring track in) then bang in the original track. BOOOOM! (when bangin in bass, adjust level depth so it's not too loud). Hope that makes sence.
