I was curious to your thoughts Mark on Lab 4?

I know of late they have taken the Tidy / Lashes route, but some of there 2001 stuff was very different and good. Fast paced, and deep.

I know the tracks which they have done I've thought were amazing, but can't think of there names right now!

    Just curious...

    Lab 4 rock!

Just look at what they've achieved. I remember back in the early 90's when a guy I knew from Germany (used to run POD Communications) started to manage them and he was like 'These guys are good!!!!' They played nowhere and I thought he was talking rubbish. Then I promoted some of their singles for him and I was really impressed.

    Plus they're really nice guys.

    HAIL LAB 4!!!!

I was lucky enough to catch Lab 4 the last time they were in Toronto. It was absolutely amazing. They put such an incredible amount of work into their live sets, and while I've seen people complain about the fact that while live its not made up on the fly, they dont have any idea exactly how difficult it is to get that timing correct for so long.

    Fast, hard, and wonderfully sequenced.

And it sorta reinforces my use of hardware being more fun in creating music post from the other board

I have not been lucky enough to catch them live yet, but it's something I will moan at Tom Costelloe to about the possibility of booking them. They may be quite busy at the moment with interest after playing at Godskitchen, but seeing as Ben McGowan got them down to Claires in Torquay I can't see why Plymouth wouldn't be a worth venue.

There's a few tracks of there's I'm after but I find that not many record shops stock there older stuff... just there more recent collaberations with Hard House, regretfully.

Now to see how much they have changed, if at all. Ill post what differences I might have seen after the shows are ovre.

Yeah that would be much appreciated any feedback you can offer.

The lab 4 I knew of 2001 was awesome!

I don't know if Hard House has had a destructive influence or maybe even just tweaked what was already good to better... so I'd be grateful of your opinion!

I was thinking the exact same thing. I had heard the Lisa Lashes Unbelievable track they did, and I really thoguht it was excellent. I havent picked it up on vinyl yet though. Ive always had this slight house aversion that I cant seem to shake, but that is jsut the way Lab4 should be fast and heavy.
