this is really, really bad. and i can't believe elp have put it out.

well it figures as much now i think about it. all i ever see on there press releases is 'fergie this', 'fergie that'.

i just wish these ppl would get off this fergie shit. don't they realise it's really bad for techno. imo, this guy plays the wrong type of techno on his show. everything about him is wrong when it comes to techno. this release is diabolical, i mean REALLY diabolical. this is not well produced techno. it's just a kid who knows nothing about production sending something to a distributor that is obviously well into him and getting a hi profile release. this is wrong, all wrong.

f it. it's up to us to rise above this. forget all this techno hype and get down to grass roots and try to take this forward. i respect alot of elp's shit but this is just sickening.

fergie demonstates yet again that we really shouldnt even be talking about him on here.

This is it. On one hand they put out good records from Oliver Ho, Beyer, Lekebusch etc... then this rubbish. Best way is to actually say it to them in your reactions, by email, or just not get it in if you are ordering for a shop. I'm off work 'til next week, but I'm sure gonna tell them what I think next time they ring the shop

Mark, if you are doing reviews in M8 this month I'd really urge you to review this record and put it in its place, that is of course if you want to bother at all. Personally I think it'd be good for proper non-Mixmag style reviews of this record to be published wherever possible.

I'd really like to see this done.

Media certainly is a powerful medium, and Mark, you have the power to make a statement!

This is strange alright. Corrado Izzo and Gadgets used to make great stuff, the last few things I've heard recently have been so different, and basically very tacky & commercial sounding.

This taken from Tune Inn's website:

"Radio 1 jock and techno superstar Fergie delivers the first release on Cheeky Biscuits recordings, an unmissable 2 tracker engineered by fellow techno producer Jel Ford."

This piece of turd was actually produced by Jel Ford!?

    The mind boggle's

I like the "fellow techno producer" bit.

It's simple though, ELP is run by Jel Ford in the UK... Fergie gives their stuff exposure, and in return they sort him out.

oh man it gets worse, Jel Ford actually had something to do with this? i have to say Jericho have done some superb releases in the funky market, and Jel's done some wikid tracks aswell, this really is as bad as it gets i think... the production is terrible, really really terrible, and im sure Fergie's a nice bloke, infact people i know have said he's a lovely bloke, but come on, how anyone could listen to that in their studio, if it was done in a studio i dare say, and think, "yeahhhh.... thats really good"

its not release worthy in any sense of the word.... unless it was all pressed copies released from the back of a lorry over a huge cliff, into a very deep, dark ocean
    upcoming releases : Templ8r 1, Advanced 025, Humanoid 7, Emetic 013 - www.djscottgray.co.uk

That's funny. I wouldn't even forgive them if they admitted to making this whilst on K or something that completly blinded their perception of producing something that was remotely worth listening to

come on now, it wasnt him that wrote that.

AND i do think alot of ppl are directing too much hate on this because it's fergie. but that shouldn't be the issue.

the issue is, this really isn't a good track. and it really is a big statement about elp that i think they could do without if they're selling good, well produced techno. i don't care if damn mills comes out to me asking me to put out waveform volume iv on blackout audio. if it aint good, it aint getting released.

    full stop.

Nice one Mark, that's a perfect review for the next issue of M8 ;)

I wonder did R&S license the "Horsepower" sample to them? I know they're not still releasing but presumably they still deal with licensing etc.?
