    Default New mixer

I'm thinking about investing in a ALLEN & HEATH XONE 62 mixer, anyone else got one of these, what are they like? what are the features? How big is it roughly, how long are they likely to last? I remember them having them at the Country Club.

I mean just look at it!!!!!

yup, that's the one i have. i bought it after loving it so much at the CC.

ok so my verdict now i've had in at home in the studio?

i love it, but i wouldn't buy one again.

    reasons:

    1) i'm not particularly ruff with the sliders (although they obviously get serious use during the week) and already 2 have broken.

    2) the eq is just plain weird. the bass cuts the bass out TOO much when it's full down. and the 2 mid eq's are strange (but workable).

look, the filter is amazing but after a while it becomes cliche.

at the moment if i had the choice between the pioneer and the a+H it would be a close call. for me there's no mixer out there that does what i want it to do. i want effects. i want good eq. i want things to mess around with. pioneer beats the a+h in terms of things to mess with. but then again i've learnt so much about eq from the a+h. hmmmmmm.....

OK then the best set up for me at present would probably be the a+H WITH a pioneer efx 500 unit.

but please be careful. i'l say it again. the eq on the a+h is weird.

    hope this helps man :)

Mark ... if only U had got the 3 channel version.... It really is sweet the eq is just brilliant... personally I hate the 2 mids...

Pioneer is brilliant in terms of xtras ... but the sound compared 2 a A & H is very bad (really harsh and nasal)...

so quality wise A & H r years way in the future....

Any chance you could elaborate on "weird".

the problem with pioneer is the quality of the buttons. my djm 600 is 1 year old and the parameter-buttons 1 & 2 and the eq-buttons are very loose. a repair is very expensiv.

Deppends on how many channels your wantin mate. If you only need 2, then id go for this baby - http://www.htfr.com/more-info/?catno=MR83804
Its the scratch mixer to get at the mo, i have one and the quality is ****ing amazing. The eq is sweet, and the money you would save means you can get an fx box, as the mixer has sends for fx.
( I scratch a lot so im quite biased to scratch mixers!)
