    Default Im looking for a good soft synth for dark ambience

    Any ideas prefrably a free one(not importent just prefreble cause im a skint bum) but any will do as long as it does the biz.

    Any ideas yer buggers

    Atmosphere is a good one, but it only really has presets. Do what i do, buy a pc game and strip the samples out of it. ;)

    fm7 is great too, needs to be really worked tho. Absynth is ****ing rad, i'm hanging to buy version 3, anyone used it yet?

    Use lots of FX and delays on any sound you care to mention that has been pitched down beyond reason. Big ol' wierd noises.

    Cheers people very helpful.
    Ive been using the FM7 for what feels like forever that and the pro52 are the only ones I realy use.
    Im going to get Absynth somtime it seems to be the no 1.
    For now tho im going to try Sophia and the Cosmic girl ones tonight.

    Second that. Especially version 3 which has multi-channel panning capabilities. The Cosmic Girl one isn't bad either. I've used it in a few tracks.

    yeah defo absynth 3 for atmospheric weird sounds. Also reaktor 5 is is excellant.
