have you looked at the site, it breaks down techno, has mp3s of loops, then changes the compression and stuff and demonstrates how you get the different effects. Goes through the different kicks 1 by 1, describes them, the history and origin of them and all sorts, pretty damn interesting stuff if you want details. Has some quality quotes too.
