Default souncard for my new laptop. help please

bought a new laptop the other day, and made the error of thinking my old audigy soundcard would work with it. of course it doesnt, so i have the new dilema of which soundcard to buy. i am on a bit of a budget at the mo, but can afford 40 to 50 quid. i have been told M Audio would be a good choice. im only using it for recording mixes in soundforge and using reason for making drum patterns. can any1 give me any suggestions of which 1 to buy? would be appreciated. thanks in advance. Bayley
