a1) Märchenwald
b1) Der einsame Mensch
b2) Dark seed

The man from Jerkbox, Andreas Seibel, produces the first release on new Schubfaktor sublabel “Vernacular". In sharp contrast to the pounding madness released on Schubfaktor, Vernacular is a place for slower, more subtle works that are more than mere party music.

"Märchenwald" on the A1 of Vernacular 001 sets the pace for things to come. A soft but danceable drum accompanies subtle strings and reverbed noises. Well placed chord stabs give Märchenwald the Tech-House feeling.

B1 "Der Einsame Mensch" creates a totally different mood than the first track. It begins with raindrops and an intro of a man telling us about lost love. As he finishes the synths fade up, the rain stops and suddenly, after a short mix-in phase housy stabs create a completely new, very dancable rhythm. This is high quality production here!

B2 "Dark Seed" is my personal favourite. As the name says, this one is dark. It begins with a broken beat and dark strings being faded in. After the mix-ina heavy bass comes in and in contrast an uplifting vocoded lfo synth. When we hit the break a flute like synth joins the strings and the entire construct becomes fuller by the second, creating an intensity almost unknown to this genre.
