i reinstalled windows today and the cd i have for my soundcard is only for windows 98. I looked on thier website but to no avail, i know its possible cos i was on xp before i reinstalled

wow, emu dont give much info out do they.
from what i can tell, it looks like you get any of the emu digital audio system drivers, then it will probably ask you on installation to pick your soundcard, but i maybe wrong

go there, then pick the "digital audio" then "pci digital audio systems" then choose your soundcard from the list. Then download the Patchmix dsp hotfix/patch, its an actual installer now and installs the latest version of Patchmix DSP on your machine, and their are version 1.81 or 1.82 drivers on there too, its right underneath it as a seperate patch
i had a problem the other day when Patchmix kept crashing everytime it loaded, just out the blue, turns out it was a windows security issue and i downloaded the relevant windows updates, updated my Patchmix DSP with the new version and installed the new drivers to be sure, and tis all working sweet again now
i actually love my Emu0404, for the price it's brilliant, great sound, tons of features, some lush effects and takes some of the strain off the CPU which is always nice :)
