    im soon gettin my own dedicated studio thanx to a house move :)

    i've already got the sound isolation sorted but im looking to get some new monitors to go with my new set up.. was looking at the samson rubicon r6a ribbon monitors but the low freq is only 57 :cry:

    anyone any ideas on whats good in mid-price range? cant afford mackie 624s.. but want something a lot better than my alesis m1 actives...

    I loved the sound of the mid price Dynaudio monitors (forget the model number) when I was looking but couldn't afford them, theyre in the 500 range. I ended up with a pair of M1 Active Mk II's as well which while very good are not in the sam eclass as the Dynaudios

    personally - i think this price range that you are thinking of is bad one to buy into... if you've already got m1's, i personally think most stuff in the rubiton/tapco/fostex/low-mid price range is won't give you a much better result... better to save for a while longer and take a bigger step up...
