    Default DVD drive problem

    not sure if ill get any replies on this but its worth a shot..
    My DVD drive shows up in My Computer as 2 drives, a CD and DVD one... Then when i go to burn a DVD it fails aboiut 6 % into the job!!

    Cds burn grand!!

    any ideas??
    I googled the error log and saw a few replies on enabling DMA, but im not sure what all this is..!!

    any help is much appreciated

    Have you tried removing it, uninstalling the drivers, and then installing it again?

    do what techmouse suggested, then try enabling DMA afterwards.

    DMA stands for Direct Memory Access, it's just a way of passing data without going through the cpu.

    to enable it go to your device manager, click on the ide controller, choose the channel with your drive on and enable DMA
