    Default is there such thing??

    as something (software i suppose) that can power off my soundcard and power it back on, as there is no button on my box!!

    There is a remarkable piece of hardware called a hand - used to unplug whatever cable is powering the thing :)

    Why would you want to switch your soundcard off?

    You could click on the "safely remove" icon if your hardware is external.

    Otherwise you could remove it from your hardware config if its internal.

    You could design a simple script to do either task and call it a program if you wanted.

    Beats me why you would want to do such a crazy thing though.. :)

    its a PCI card with a breakout box... just sometimes if i overload the CPU and crash ... i have to restart before i can use the card again! which can be a bit annoying

    I'd just restart mate.

    Have you optimised your pc for music? Makes it boot up loads quicker...

    Don't just take all of those tweaks as red. It really depends on your setup.

    Some people find they improve speed & stability, others find the opposite.

    The "tip" about speeding up menus is particularly infuriating.

    yea.. ive done that.. i didnt really touch anything i didnt understand fully!!

    your probly right anyway... a restart is handiest
