    Default Recording Mixes

What do you guys use to record your mixes? I was thinking off buying a usb lead which goes from the output on my mixer into the usb of my pc. But then i will need some software to be able to record the mix and burn it to CD.

    Any help much appreciated

most of the time i use this its free, but only records at 96kbps which aint the best tho. If i need a better quality i use soundforge.

Also i use a Y-Cable like the pic below, rather than a usb cable. Its just goes from your output from the mixer into the line-in on your pc sound card.

i used to use this kind of connection on my old sound card. now its phonos on two ends, which gives better quality. from mixer straight to phono input and ita all good.

i use two 1/4 inch mono jack-2-jack leads that go left/right out of the mixer to left/right in on the emu 1820. software wise i use soundforge.

good topic this cause i want to get as high quality sound as possible and was thinking about investing in some high grade audio cables. any of you guys know where to point me?

Make sure you have clean records and good needles.

That will make more of a difference to the sound quality than anything else
